5 exercises you can do in your hotel room to stay fit

Modern business executive is a regular traveller. He will always find himself in this or that city hotel where he cannot fully commit to his regular exercise regimen. If you are one of these regular travellers, below are a few pointers that can help you keep fit even as you conduct your business.

1 Carry a Skipping Rope

Skipping is one of the best on-the-spot exercises. It exercises all parts of the body. Most hotel rooms have enough space for you to do at least 500 jumps with the skipping rope in the morning before shower and another 500 in the evening.

2. Take the Stairs

Do not be tempted to use the elevator even if you are in a hurry. Taking the stairs to your hotel room will keep the muscles fully exercises.

3. Push-ups and Sit-ups

Push-ups exercise your thoracic muscles, forelimbs muscles as well as abdomen muscles. Sit-ups will exercise your abdominal muscles as well as the leg muscles. Make sure you do at least 100 sit-ups and 100 push-ups every morning. This will help you burn the extra calories you might be eating during your business trip.

4. Jogging on the spot

Jogging on the spot for 30-minutes is a good way to exercise. Make sure there is a background music playing so that it keeps you from concentrating on the exercise. It helps you kick out the numbness and lethargy from the body muscles in the morning. Ensure that your jog generates some sweat.

5. Yoga

Are you trained in Yoga? Most business hotels are quiet enough for you to do your morning yoga exercises and meditation. To avoid interruption, make sure you wake up at around 4.00AM when most of the other hotel guests are still sleeping.

Whatever else you do, do not relax on your exercises. Keeping fit even when on travel ensures that the hours you have been putting in at home do not go to waste after a 2-weeks business travel. Most people who make exercising in their hotel rooms part of their itinerary find that they beat jetlag very quickly, which ultimately gives them better results at work.
